...each and every person is made up of a false self. Each and every one has become convinced and assumes that the freedom to choose their own wants and desires, tastes and opinions, preferences and distinctions is what makes them a person. In this we are all culpable. And in this we are all equally incorrect.
Most people in the world will never become anyone other than this false self. How can they? It is what they most cherish about themselves. It is how they come to understand and justify the lives that they live. They will defend this false self at all costs. And on a basic level, and in reality, what other choice do they have?
Over time people become quite adept at both the justification and defense of this fabricated narrative, ordering the world around them. Their experiences of pleasure along with the drive for these experiences, the seeking of power and honour and knowledge and love, add layer upon layer onto their original lack of substance. It all amounts to a simple justifcation of something that is originally and objectifiably insubstantial by clothing it in thngs that are visible, but which in and of themselves are only ghostly distinctions that are designed to justify the ego.
