This Is Not

There is no contractual justification when it comes to the direct experience of God; there is no 'if then...so that'. This is pure relationship, pure friendship. This is not some official spiritual work. It is not the private cultivation of an overarching program or ideology. It is not an effective sign of anything, especially not as proof of God's presence or activity. But the fact remains that in letting go of one's ego, of stripping oneself bare of the layered encumbrances of culture, and of simply being present to God you begin to be reborn into your id, which is the recovery of being a new person in Christ, bringing to fruition what lies behind one's baptism. It is a fruitful harvest of peace, wisdom, and genuine love, which is the unconditional regard for others in their true identities as God has created them.
