Physical Emptiness

When it comes to physical emptiness it is very easy to convince yourself that the poverty of the poor is somehow God's will for them when you yourself are well fed and well clothed and have your own physical needs taken care of and believe in you own heart that these things are some sort of blessing from God. But in order to be believable to the rest of the world then give these up and share the poverty of the poor and see if you are able to accept it as part of God's plan for your own life.

It is certainly interesting that in the early accounts of the church no one denied people the right to own property, or to keep what they owned. Yet they all deemed it right to satisfy the needs of others and brought it to the apostles as a privilege that transcended the letter of the law in order to meet the needs of others and so reflect the love of God for all people.

Have you ever considered that perhaps the only reason that God has allowed you to stumble into the wealth that you have is that you might find the joy that comes by giving it all away?

For as many as were owners of land or houses sold the and brought the price of that which they had sold and lad it at the feet of the Apostles. - Acts 4:34-35
