Joyful Simplicity

To experience the contemplative encounter with God is incredibly simple and overwhelmingly joyful. And yet people spend their whole lives performing sacrificial work in order to obtain things and in so doing will make real life impossible.
This joyful simplicity is so great that it is mysteriously neutral. It is genuinely inexpressible. It is fully centring and personal. There is no urgency to tell anyone else about it. And in a strict sense because of its intimate character, it is nobody else's business.
