Inoffensive

It has to be noted that the vast majority of people who subscribe to any of the world religions are so inarticulate about their faith that this is in itself very convincing proof that there is something systemically wrong with religion in general, and Christianity in particular.

In truth contemplative encounter with God manifests itself in a perfectly capable expression of love for all created things. In doing so it does not need to make any formal reference to God. It draws not attention to its own piety. And its ensuing actions are carried out without artifice, gimmicry, or rigidity. Directly docile and perfectly at home in the light of God’s love at work in the world these physical statements of God themselves give wwitness to God. There is no straining to make forced connections by word or deed.

How can you be offended when you live this way? How can you presume to judge anything? How is it possible to know anything but through the sublime magnanimity of God? This quietude, this centredness and acceptance, these are the evangel manifest physically.

If it is a wonder why people are blind to this, then it is a certainty that there are people far and few who know how to so articulate the Word, as well as hears that have so much debris inside their ears so as to not to be able to hear it.
