How To Be Happy

Here is the call of God to all who claim to follow.

Embrace poverty. Take the seat at the far end of that table. Live among the despised. Love those who are least like yourself. Do not make others serve you, but instead, look to take personal loss as you labour for them. Do not fight back when they shove you around. Lift up those who hurt you and hold them before God. Turn your back on the things that satisfy your senses. Open your heart to find God in poverty, hunger, thirst, abuse, and the lack of your ability to see what is going on around you with any clarity. Take the desert roads which seem to be madness to turn onto. Shoulder the same humility and poverty and renunciation and obedience that Christ shouldered.

When you do these, then you will find peace for your soul.
