Growing Experience

Genuine experience is made up of experience that is not contrived; it contains unplanned outcomes. Genuine experience raises very serious self-doubt. Previously held values crumble. Nothing comes to take their place.

When it comes to religious faith this may seem like a crisis. But that is the way of experience, overturning our mental conceptions and previous expectations. In this there may seem to be no God at all, or that we have been isolated from God, perhaps even permanently.

Our movement from loving God to the experience where God loses limitations and is immanently present is not easily able to be described; it is a breakthrough.
