Following The Wrong God Home

How is it even possible to experience God and...

• seek one's own pleasure

• feed personal and social illusions

• be anxious about anything

• seek to fulfill one's own desires

• glorify the displays of humans

• live in the confusion of a double standard

• refuse to quiet one's own heart

• not seek silence as the foundational reality

• refuse to even try and listen for the voice of God

• fail to recognize that God's love is mostly found in the oblique and obscure

• not withdraw from conflict and competition

• not turn away from controversy

• not lay aside the right to judge

• not to deny one's right to even have an opinion

• not lay down the burden of censorship and criticism

• turn one's back on the silent, immanent. expectant, anticipation of the coming of God

• erase the tranquil centre of sheer dependence

• to not reject everything that I achieve and suffer in life in resignation to God in blind faith and pure trust

...and then to wait in this oblivion for God to work.

It is good to wait in silence for the salvation of God. (Lamentations 3:26)
