Complimentary

The direct experience of God is not a matter of the direct experience of God. Instead, it is always a matter of love, and of love of other people most particularly. Without the love of others we will never grow out of our illusions about who others are and of God's love for them. The love of God and the love of others are by no means obstacles to one another, but are indeed complimentary parts of one love.
