Being Contemplative

The future of the direct experience of God exists in direct proportion to one thing, namely, that contemplatives are contemplatives and not something else. There is no point in talking about this if people deny their own true self. Maintaining an identity that is in keeping with that of God's revealing to others found within the biblical witness means also learning to dismiss the social marginalization that goes along with this and accepting a transcultural identity and the ensuing freedom from those imperatives while being open to its needs and in dialogue with it.
