What does it take to allow the love of God to fully consume us? How much debris keeps us separate from one another? Hasn't Christ's body been drawn and quartered for two thousand years by the disunity of mental notions that fester in our heads? Aren't the mental diseases bred by self interest the root of the unceasing divisions among ourselves and that we inflict of earthly innocents? Isn't the history of the world - the maniacal destruction of one another and the planet - simply the outworking of the interior division that tyrannizes the souls of all people, including the saints? Murder, massacres, revolution, hatred, the torture of humans, the despoiling of the earth and all of its inhabitants, the starvation of millions, the cosmic inhumanity of atomic war - isn't it God who is actually and ultimately murdered in people?
