The experience of God depends completely on one's sense of sin in their life.
Sin is a mystery because it is a game of cat and mouse. It disguises itself as something inoffensive. It camouflages itself to blend in with the common, enculturated values and practises of all of the principalities in which we are immersed and that run seek to overrun people's lives.
The falsely-promoted innocence of modern people has blinded them to the need for humility, let alone the contrition required to take responsibility for the inhuman treatment of the world, others, themselves, and God. And this is dangerous precisely because it presents itself as humanizing.
Sin is the prisoner of conventional ideas. It is captivated by its own desires. It cannot accept unfamiliar truth. It eschews on principle alone all transcendent notions.
Sin is the false self. It is the person we are taught and groomed to be. It is who we present to others. It is an illusion. God knows nothing of this false self.
Sin is both a personal and corporate entity.
From the germ of this seed grows all sorts of evil.
